Let them eat cake!

I made my first ever Christmas cake a couple of weeks ago! Usually I just buy them (about 4 times cheaper) but had no excuse not to make one this year :-)

I'm really happy with how it looks. Hopefully it will taste nice, I won't know, I don't like Christmas cake. This is for my men :-) I shall be like a Masterchef contestant anxiously awaiting the taste-test. Oh well, if it's inedible there are plenty of other goodies stashed around the house :-p

Well, it looks fab - and festive!
[PS - my word verfication is 'dines' so surely a good omen!]

Very impressive! I am not a huge fan of Christmas Cake either... although, I am not generous enough to make one for any of the men in my life! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas. x

It is lovely! Is Xmas cake the same as fruitcake?

I'm sure your men will love it! :)

Happy Holidays!

Hi - I just found your blog yesterday; love your style! Sounds like its thrift store heaven in Sydney - great finds!

I would have 2 typewriters on display in my hall too, if I had a hall. Spotted your tin globe on the expedit - I found a battered 1950s one to show my boys how all the countries on Eurovision have changed!

Thanks too for the pyrex collective link - I am a "snowflake" junkie. All those gorgeous pastels!

Luscious cake - my friends here have all suddenly started doing their own cakes. (I used to sneak in to the spare room and break bits of icing off when I was a kid... my mum never said anything....)
