Housewife

I found a lovely collection of vintage tea towels in Vinnie's a few weeks ago. There were about 30 there in total (although I restrained myself and bought only 6). Somebody had obviously donated them all at once. I always wonder what triggers somebody to just suddenly give away a collection they've obviously been gathering over a long time, do they just crack one morning and scream "NO MORE"!!!

Lovely! Isn't it a good thing we can't see in to the future? Seriously, if at 18 I could have seen myself at 36 blogging about pyrex and tea towels I may very well have hung myself!

Yet here I am happily doing so :-) How could a housewife not get excited by all those lovely retro patterns and at only $2 each!!!

If you're looking for some fab tea towels check out this gorgeous website for some beautiful new vintage styles.

Haha, I had the very same thought the other day. They are cool tea towels, you were very strong to stop at 6, I don't think I could have restrained myself. Great find.

Lovely, pretty and psychedelic prints! Will you actually use em as tea towels?

I think that's exactly how it happens. I had a collection of scarves, the square patterned variety that I did that with. Just went, enough is enough, and offloaded them. Some, I'll admit, I've regretted getting rid of. Oh well. You did well to only buy 6. And, no, my 18-year-old self woulda gone "cooool-i-o" at my 36 year old self. Hey. I just realised I'm 18 x 2.

Hey now, I'm single in my young 20s and I would happily blog about gorgeous tea towels like these. More than rose-patterned lace things, these are pure art! I looooove the whimsical cat print! I might have to make some art that just like that cat, it has so much energy!

I love to watch my washing blowing in the wind, and have tea towels not for use.

how sad am I :0

It's funny how part of you changes and part of you never changes. Some of the things you did 15 years ago probably seemed cool at the time and now you'd never go there. Three beautiful boys, Pyrex, funky tea towels... How does it get any better?
Rock on!
